YoGO's Come Camp and Cache Celebration!!

THIS EVENT HAS COME AND GONE! THIS PAGE IS FOR REFERENCE ONLY. THE EVENTS TOOK PLACE APRIL 16 TO APRIL 18, 2010.

Last year, YoGO teamed up with the York County Convention and Visitors Bureau (YCCVB) to bring geocaching to Rock Hill's Come-See-Me festival. We had a CITO of the parade route, an introduction to geocaching event, a meet-and-greet and we kicked off our first geocoin passport. This year, we are again working with YCCVB but instead of a day of activities, we now have a whole weekend! And we are now working with Camp Canaan who is providing their entire ISLAND for us!!

Come out over the weekend to find out how you can get your very own YoGO Come-See-Me 2010 Geocoin!! The coin is trackable with a unique icon.

Below you will find all kinds of information about the weekend events and about what we will have to offer. You are more than welcome to attend any/all of our events for FREE. However, if you wish to either camp or eat the provided meals, there will be a cost involved. Costs and options will be listed below.

EVENTS

First, lets talk about our big event this year which is GC249J8 - YoGO's Camp & Cache Celebration. This event will begin Friday afternoon and continue through Sunday. In order to claim that you attended this event, you just need to come out and join us on the island for some fellowship. There is NO COST to come hang out and enjoy some fun! We plan to have campfires both Friday and Saturday nights. We are also looking to have a story teller come out Saturday and a one-night-only night caching adventure! After this night, the night cache will be made into a traditional.

Saturday's events include GC249HT - Be Seen Green with YoGO. This event is a CITO (Cache in, Trash Out). We will be walking in the Come-See-Me parade picking up trash as we go. Last year was a success and this year should be as well.

We will also have another introduction event with GC248T3 - Come-See-Me Geocaching 101. If you are new to geocaching, this is a great way to learn more about it and ask questions. Come out and join us at 1pm in the York County Library armed with your sense of adventure!

Our final event of the weekend will be GC248TQ - Come-See-Me Paddling GeoEvent. We will be paddling from Camp Canaan down the Catawba River to RiverPark. There are a few caches along the way to get as well. You are welcome to bring your own canoe or kayak. There will be a limited number available for rent from Camp Canaan. More details on that will be provided later so check back. We can also help you with shuttling between the put-in and take-out.
